Caroline Holmes
I trained from 2002 to 2004 at the Accredited Center for Massage Therapy in Groton, CT. It was a wonderful experience and a thorough training program of 750 hours which covered many modalities including Shiatsu, Reiki, sports massage, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, Swedish, pathology, anatomy, kinesiology. I also completed my National Board Certification.
My first massage job was at the prestigious Norwich Inn in CT. Here I learned spa therapies such as hot stones, herbal, clay, chocolate wraps, Ayurvedic shirodhara (pouring warm oil onto the forehead for 30 mins). I also worked in a chiropractic office doing more injury rehab specific therapy. I continued my career in Sedona, Arizona furthering my spa experience and healing arts path. Some of my further education has included learning Lomi Lomi on the island of Hawaii, ethics, aromatherapy, herbalism, making balms and infused oils, marijuana as medicine, yoga, tai chi, ayurvedic nutrition, meditation, and spiritual studies. In addition to the healing arts I have pursued a path of creative arts. My paintings and crafts often combine a spiritual and healing element.
